THINGS TO DO THIS WEEK IN SPRINGFIELD

Thanksgiving is next week! It’s been an eventful year in Springfield and this week is no different.  There are lots of fun things to do before the holiday season starts and family get togethers start dominating your planner.  With the beautiful weather we’ve been having lately, there are plenty of great things to do both indoors and outdoors!

GILMORE GIRLS TRIVIA NIGHT

When: Wednesday November 16th from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Where: Patton Alley Pub

If you were a fan of the early 2000s show Gilmore Girls, you already know that it’s making a big comeback on Netflix this year.  Gilmore Fans are a passionate bunch and we’re sure they’ll be out in droves for this charity event at Patton Alley.  A small cover charge at the door will help benefit Ozarks Food Harvest to serve more than 28 counties in the Ozarks to help end hunger in food deserts. Each team can have up to 6 members, so grab your fellow fans and head downtown this Wednesday.

9TH ANNUAL OZARKS CRAFTS FESTIVAL

When: Friday, November 18th 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. & Saturday 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Where: Ozark Community Center

Artisans from all over the Ozarks will get together to feature their wares this Friday and Saturday.  Hand-crafted jewelry, apparel, art and plenty of food stuffs will be on display at the Ozark Community Center.  This is a great way to get out and meet fellow Ozarkers who have dedicated themselves to making cool things in tons of different categories.

 

OZARKS BEER FEST

When: Saturday, November 19th from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Where: Springfield Expo Center

Sponsored by Price Cutter, Ozarks Beer Fest is a great excuse to get out and enjoy a frosty beverage and some tasty grub.  All the heavy hitters in local brews will be there, from Mother’s Brewing to Springfield Brewing Company , White River Brewing and a host of other craft beer vendors.  Also at the event will be a charity poker game featuring $3,000 in prizes from Downstream Casino and Resort! There’s tons more going on, including a stein holding contest, a pretzel contest and a home brewing contest. If you’re looking for a good time, this one’s for you!

CITY SESSIONS – LOST AND FOUND

When: Saturday November 19th at 8:30 p.m.

Where: Gillioz Theatre

City Sessions is a wonderful monthly event that donates every cent of the profit it raises to the children in need in the Democratic Republic of Congo in Africa. This month, Lost and Found will take the stage.  College students can present an ID and get in for $10!

COMEDIAN BRIAN REGAN

When: Sunday, November 20th at 7:00 p.m.

Where: Juanita K. Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts

The ‘clean’ comedian, Brian Regan brings a relatively family-friendly act to Juanita K. Hammons this Sunday.  Regan has done the David Letterman Show, The Jay Leno Show, Comedy Central specials and tons of other mainstream comedy channels.  Here’s a little taste of what you can expect from Regan on stage this Sunday.

SUNDAY BRUNCH AT THE TOWER CLUB

Where: The Tower Club

Feeling on top of the world? You will be when you’re eating a delicious brunch at the top of the tallest building in Springfield! Enjoy a fine combination of lunch and breakfast in one of the most famous places in the entire city.

DOWNTOWN SPRINGFIELD TREE LIGHTING CEREMONY

When: Saturday at 7:00 p.m.

Where: Park Central Square

At Park Central Square, the tree will go up again and the lights will come on.  It’s a beautiful ceremony that usually draws hundreds of people.  Horse-drawn carriage rides are available, too if you really want to get in the Christmas spirit! It’s almost here!
